Wishlists
My wishlists are an insight into my personality, hobbies and tastes—and a surefire way of getting my attention. So far, the most remarkable wishlist gift has been an 1861 Springfield musket; but gifts of any size genuinely make my day!
for trinkets and treasures: lingerie, dresses, and jewelry
for books and useful items: a window into my daily life
These gifts ship anonymously, so please include a note so I know who to thank.
Gifts
Treats & Drinks: I’m health-conscious and always pleased to find sparkling water in the suite (Pellegrino or Gerolsteiner are my favorite) or light snacks like cut fruit and cheese. I like black coffee, mint tea and the occasional green juice. Sweets will go to waste—please don’t bring them.
Books: American history is always a safe bet with me—double points for an obscure book on the Civil War or reconstruction. If you really want to floor me, something special from Bauman Rare Books—especially first-edition memoirs of political or military worthies—is sure to make me swoon.
Lingerie: If you’d like to lace me up before a date please send along a gift card to Bordelle, Agent Provocateur, or Fleur du Mal. If you want to do the honors, send along what you have in mind and request my sizes. Send me shopping in NYC and you’ll be gifted with dressing-room selfies from Journelle or Sugar Cookies Boutique.
Jewelry & Coins: A sucker for gold in all its forms (be it coin, earring or bar shaped), I covet anything that can be sewn into a coat hem and traded for safe passage at a border (loose rubies, Krugerands, etc).
Trinkets: I’m delighted by small leather goods, novel travel items, and historical ephemera. I’m also taking conscripts for my legion of Playmobil Roman soldiers.
Preferences
Dining: I’m a flexible diner with no allergies but usually order the simplest thing on the menu. Wherever we dine—be it Park Avenue or a park bench—a well-prepared piece of meat served with vegetables or salad will suffice.
Activities: Let’s get out and explore! I’m an active person and not one to sit still for too long. If we’re staying in town let’s visit a science museum, go dig through an archive or find a local history tour. Always ready for day trip out for boating, fishing, flying or shooting; if you’re ready for a rush let’s take a helicopter tour or go drive a tank through the mud!
Accommodation: For engagements longer than 24 hours, it’s best we book separate or adjoining rooms so we each have a private place to nap, make calls, or spruce up in between activities.
I take two hours every morning to myself for my fitness and relaxation routine—but I’ll let you sleep in if you ask nicely!
